Shouting over the cheering crowd, boxing announcer and legend Jimmy Lennon Sr. asks a young local boy DANNY, 17, who had just turned pro where he is from and how he wants to be announced. Danny smiles wide and proud, "I'm from East Los Angeles." It is from here on, Mr. Lennon announces to the sold out crowds at the infamous Olympic Auditorium, on 18th and Grand, "And in this corner, Danny Valdez, The Pride of East Los Angeles!"
